Bio

Delivering design research, data visualization, user testing, social media content, and web and report design, Alma also works closely with our research and communications teams to identify and overcome communications and accessibility challenges via visual language. She brings positivity, open-mindedness, humility, curiosity, and compassion to each project she works on, and ensures that every client objective is entirely satisfied in our final designs.

Alma has a background in finding creative solutions to complex problems, having worked as a junior product designer for Mustang Survival, where she developed her sewing and pattern drafting skills and learned industry standard procedures in pattern design software. She also worked at Emergco Aerospace where she constructed rescue products used for helicopter external cargo.

While Alma found working on life-saving products rewarding, she wanted to expand her skillset and work to effect systemic change and improve people’s quality of life through empathetic, human-centred projects. In joining Be the Change Group, Alma seized the opportunity to tackle environmental, social, and health issues, and collaborate with others who want to make a positive impact. She has impacted us too, upgrading our recycling and compost systems so relentlessly that she was named “office sustainability officer”—a position we didn’t even know we had!

Alma graduated with a degree in Product Design from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Wilson School of Design.
